What to Expect:

Therapy is often depicted in movies and mainstream society as something complex and intimidating; reserved only for the most severely mentally ill. The truth is that each of us experience times in our life in which we can feel alone, confused and overwhelmed. I hope to move towards a different view of the therapeutic process: One in which therapy becomes a joint effort in which, together, we navigate difficult life circumstances and transitions through improved interpersonal effectiveness, positive self talk and empowerment. I offer a warm, accepting and comfortable safe space to help you to identify strengths which are already present in your life to more effectively, not only understand, but improve mood and develop skills which will assist in your own ability to cope. Together, we will explore how past experiences have impacted things like self worth, guilt, shame and personal understanding of factors which contribute to issues including depression, anxiety, addiction and post traumatic stress.

Getting to Know Me:

I recently moved from Arkansas to Oklahoma and have experience across many different settings having worked in the public school system, community mental health, inpatient hospitals, and in substance use programs. I have a big family, love to travel and often utilize humor in addition to my empathetic nature. If my clients take one thing from our time together, I hope that it is that you are worthy of happiness and that your life has meaning and purpose.
